How to Update a Chrome Browser Extension Manually

To force an update of the Detect Auto browser extension, follow these steps to download the latest version of the Detect Auto browser extension before it's released to everyone.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Open Chrome Extensions Page

• In Chrome, click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
• Navigate to Extensions via:
  Extensions > Manage Extensions
  

Or, open chrome://extensions/ (you may need to copy and paste this into your address bar manually)

2. Enable Developer Mode

• At the top-right of the Extensions page, toggle Developer mode to ON.
  

This will reveal additional controls like Update, Load unpacked, and Pack extension.

3. Update the Extension

• Click the Update button near the top left side of the page.
  
• Chrome will check all your extensions and update any that have a newer version available from the source.

4. (Optional) Confirm Update

• You can verify that the extension was updated by clicking Details on the extension.
• Check the Version number and compare it against the previous version. If you are unsure if the update worked, please contact Detect Auto support.
